Satellite radio probably the best thing that’s happened since the invention of TV. Satellite radio often called paid radio because you cannot get it through the regular stations that you pick up in a normal car radio. Therefore when you pay for these certain stations, you will get so much music that you will just not even know what to do with yourself.
Satellite radio uses satellites give the subscriber their music and stations. The signal is from earth but then is sent to the satellites to get a received signal and start playing music. The signal is then broadcasted over an area so that the people with these satellite radios could pick up the many different stations. You can get a satellite radio and broadcast probably anywhere in the world wherever there is a satellite there will be a satellite radio broadcast. The signal that you will be using will be digital so you will be static free and will hear not scratchy noises in the music no more. That is why we have satellite radio now because of digital signals.
To start and get a satellite subscription you are going to need to get a tuner or satellite radio which you can get anywhere like best buy or circuit city for about a hundred dollars. There are many different types of satellite radios that you can choose from. Some of them might be a radio that you can play through your system at home others will just be a radio that you can have in your car. The plug and play radio is going to be used in your car and you will be able to probably use it at home as well. Another option that you will have is to have a portable satellite radio you will have a battery that needs to charge but you will be wireless and still getting a satellite signal. You will need to check into each radio to see what you need to start listing and enjoying your music that you will pay so much for.
Every radio has a radio ID so when you are about to get your subscription you will need to activate your radio so that when you are trying to get the signal from the satellite you can receive the signal and start playing music. There are all kinds of satellite radios that you can choose from like Sirius satellite radios are a good type of satellite radio. They have a lot of stations and are a good way to get someone a nice gift. You will be amazed at how many satellite radios you will have to choose from when you go into a store to look at buying one. You will be given options on price or probably subscription depending on which satellite radio you go with. So just go out and look for a satellite radio you like today. You might be able to get a deal online where as at best buy they are pretty expensive.

What is the difference between HD radio and satellite radio?I've heard a lot about both on the radio, and I want to know what the difference between them is, (ex: Do you have to subscribe to HD radio when you buy one, or do just have to buy one, and you don't have to buy any subscriptions for it,) what kinds of stations you can get with an HD radio or satellite radio, and, most importantly, how much does an HD radio cost, and how much does a satellite radio cost? (from cheapest to most expensive.)
Also, does anyone know how much an HD radio costs? (from cheapest to most expensive.)

Well you need to first buy a receiver for your car from either two companies XM radio or Sirius radio. Receivers cost around $40 to $99 depending on the model and type of receiver for your car. Included with the receiver is a car kit where you can install your receiver to your car's dashboard. It also included a small square magnetic antenna that need to be place on your roof of your car.
Satellite radio requires a monthly subscription or annual subscription. Monthly subscription is about 12.95 or you can pay about 142.95 annually. The difference with XM radio and Sirius Radio is almost the same but XM has better music channels while Sirius has more talk radio shows with more celebrities even though they have music channels as well. As you already heard, both companies are in the process of merging hopefully by the end of this year 2007.
You can try both companies out online by listening to what they have online before you decide to choose which company you like.
