<description>Well you need to first buy a receiver for your car from either two companies XM radio or Sirius radio. Receivers cost around $40 to $99 depending on the model and type of receiver for your car. Included with the receiver is a car kit where you can install your receiver to your car&#039;s dashboard. It also included a small square magnetic antenna that need to be place on your roof of your car.

Satellite radio requires a monthly subscription or annual subscription. Monthly subscription is about 12.95 or you can pay about 142.95 annually. The difference with XM radio and Sirius Radio is almost the same but XM has better music channels while Sirius has more talk radio shows with more celebrities even though they have music channels as well. As you already heard, both companies are in the process of merging hopefully by the end of this year 2007.

You can try both companies out online by listening to what they have online before you decide to choose which company you like.
